WEEKLY NEWS FOR DEC. 23

Good evening folks!

We are sending out this newsletter a little early this week as our regular scheduling falls on Christmas Day. If you're anything like me during holidays your phone is dead and your laptop is tucked snuggly in your work bag, and we want to make sure you catch our stories this week.

This week I spoke with Mayor Rob O'Toole, who reflected on 2025 with pride. While this year was marked by a handful of challenges, notably the transition of the Sun Peaks Community Health Centre, it was also a year of progress.

From infrastructure upgrades and development to planning for years to come, much of the work done this year will set Sun Peaks up for the future.

While writing this article, I was able to spot so many instances of reporting from Sun Peaks Independent News and couldn't help but be proud of our team for all the work we've done this year. We covered much of what they mayor brought up and I hope we answered some of your questions.

Scroll down for the full article and learn more about what the mayor thought of his first nine months in office.

Plus, to warm your soul I chatted with Marc Smith who told me about this week's Kids Game, an annual parent/kiddo battle held by the Sun Peaks Hockey League. Read the full story below and perhaps you can join next year.

Happy holidays Sun Peaks. Stay warm,
