WEEKLY NEWS FOR JAN. 8

Good afternoon folks!

Happy New Year! On behalf of SPIN, welcome to a new year! We are so excited to see what it has in store.

To start with some news, on the evening of Jan. 6, Sun Peaks Fire and Rescue (SPFR) responded to a fire at 3300 Village Pl. Luckily no one was harmed, but it presented an opportunity for Captain James Griffiths to remind everyone to check smoke alarms and follow best practices during charging lithium-ion battery-powered devices.

In other news, on Dec. 18, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) and the Neskonlith Indian Band signed a key document in outlining a collaborative working relationship. Neskonlith Kukpi7 (Chief) Irvin Wai shared his perspective on signing the document.

β€œThe signing of this memorandum of understanding represents an important step forward in strengthening the collaboration between Neskonlith Indian Band and the TNRD,” Wai said.

Last but not least, Kendra Olsen and Jackie Van Vliet invite business owners to the fourth annual business networking event Jan. 22. Participants will also have the opportunity to get their headshots taken by Zuzy Rocka at the event.

Again, I hope you have a happy and healthy new year,
