I'm Hollie Ferguson, your Wren editor. Today we're kicking off our Spring Supporter Drive, where we're asking 50 Kamloops (Tkʼemlúps)-area readers to step up as new monthly supporters by June 22 to keep our small newsroom in the field through this fall's municipal election.

So far this year, reader support put the first-ever print edition of The Wren into local coffee shops. 

We produced a guide to navigating maternity care during an uncertain stretch. 

We showed up to cover OneBC Dallas Brodie’s controversial event at TRU and the counter-protest — and cut through the noise. 

Following our reader-driven mandate to focus on solutions, we also uplifted people bringing Kamloopsians together, like Secwépemc hockey defender Jaylah Bottle and Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc’s popular archery program. 

We're working on answers to the questions readers sent in this spring: how much potable water will Kamloops' data centres consume? 

When we asked a recent Wren supporter why they contributed, they wrote: "Local media, and the high quality, Secwépemc focused stories."

Another wrote: "I miss having a local paper!"
