WEEKLY NEWS FOR JULY 2

Good morning folks,

I hope everyone is taking some time to celebrate and relax with friends and family this long weekend. We have a few stories to read before you head out the door to the parties, trails and apres!

First, Noelle attended the Run Like a Girl Top of the World Ultra last weekend! She chatted with amazing athletes (some who ran for the first time!). It's always so inspiring when folks try something new, and a 50 kilometre run? That's certainly a feat. Read more in the story below.

Plus, contributor Breanne Massey attended the 2026 Kamloopa Powwow and talked with community members, vendors and competitors. Check out her words and photos below.

Finally, a feature from our Bike Issue! A few months back we reported that trail enthusiast Sam Loxton was taking a step back from his role as president of the Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association. We recently caught up with him to chat about this new role with Sun Peaks Resort LLP overseeing the Nordic skiing, hiking, biking and snowshoe trails. Scroll down to read about what this new role entails!

Have a great weekend, Sun Peaks! Don't forget the sunscreen.
