WEEKLY NEWS FOR JAN. 15

Good morning folks!

You're hearing from me this week as Aibiike is taking some well-deserved time off.

This week council briefly discussed the health centre during the regular meeting Dec. 13. While there is still no update on a timeline for the clinic's reopening, chief administrative officer Deanna Campbell assured residents the process is moving along. SPIN is following this process carefully and has answered many common questions related to the transition.

For more information please visit our landing page dedicated to the health centre

For our stories this week, we have some news from contributor Louise Hudson, who learned more about the impact of the Netflix original My Secret Santa. The holiday movie was filmed in Sun Peaks, and plays a role in the municipality's tourism strategy. She spoke with Aaron Macdonald and Liz Wilkinson from Sun Peaks Resort to learn more. Read the full story below.

Returning this year, we also have information on the Friday Race Series. While the friendly competition went on hiatus during COVID, it's back in February. Get all the details below.

These two stories and more will be available in our January issue, which hits the shelves this Friday. Don't forget to pick it up anywhere in the village to help us celebrate the launch of our 24th volume.

Finally, If you have a moment, please fill out this survey and help guide our 2026 editorial agenda. We want to be sure we are writing stories worth reading and your feedback is vital.
